First Tales from Maplefell

The year is 1760.

King George II rules over the British Empire and, in his 77th year, has accelerated the export of political prisoners to Maplefell. A number of unique individuals get caught up in this policy, including but not limited to:

ELIZABETH (Last Name Redacted): A London socialite and all-around rabblerouser.
LADY ERIS: Soothsayer. Dancer. Singer. Occultist. Holder of strange rocks.
DEITER BENCHPRESSE: He picks things up. He puts them down.
KAYARD WYLAND: An extreme Welsh poacher.

These four found themselves in the same holding cell aboard the Reliant, one of His Majesty's deportation ships. A tenuous friendship was struck up between them as they made their way across the Atlantic. They even dreamed of mutiny, until...

A ship attacks and with minimal effort overpowers the Reliant. Jan Solo, captain of the Peregrine Falcon, offers the party a new life with the Resistance in Maplefell. Once the Falcon lands in Port Harbor, Solo introduces party to Lamont. Lamont puts people off.

Keyard (along with his gin-spired girlfriend Fleya) speaks to the ladies' need for leather pants. The party heads to Kaleb's Leather Emporium for matching duds in red and yellow leather. Eris browses bras, Elizabeth eyes Miles the teenage proprietor. Lamont seems on edge. Elizabeth puts on the ring she found under the dog bed and discover it muffles her mind. She has no taste for it. She gives it to Eris.

What happened next will no doubt be remembered in the anals of history as The Battle Of Kaleb's, or, perhaps The Sheepfister's Skirmish. When it was over, three sheep and an old woman lay dead. Lamont was revealed as a top-notch sheepkiller. And Deiter added to his XP totals by bodyslamming an old woman to death.

The party then hastened to get out of Port Harbor by sundown, but not before mercilessly slaughtering a bridge troll and her only granddaughter.

Eris found a skeletal hand.

The next morning, some screaming revealed to the party the existence of a French fur-trapper by the name of Pierre Goget. After what seemed like an hour of misunderstanding, Pierre was pulled into the party as he revealed plans to heist a wagon filled with valuable supplies. A plan to nab the wagon was hatched...
